UK Mezzanine Financing
July 4, 2025
The term associated with the middle layer of financ-
ing in leveraged buyouts. In its simplest form, a type
of financing that sits between equity and secured
debt. The risk is higher with mezzanine financing
than with senior debt, the interest charged by the
provider is higher than that charged by traditional
lenders, and an equity provision (through warrants
or options) is often incorporated into the deal.
