Blue Point Sells Country Pure Foods After Tripling EBITDA

New York - Private equity firm Blue Point Capital Partners has exited its investment in Country Pure Foods, a leading provider of branded and private-label beverages, after more than tripling the company's EBITDA during its ownership.

The deal comes as middle-market buyout firms continue to find attractive opportunities in the food and beverage sector, which has seen robust consumer demand and consolidation in recent years. According to industry sources, Blue Point generated a strong return on its investment in Country Pure, though financial terms were not disclosed.

Country Pure, based in Akron, Ohio, produces a range of fruit juices, drinks and smoothies for both retail and foodservice customers. Under Blue Point's ownership since 2019, the company expanded its product portfolio, modernized its manufacturing capabilities and grew its distribution network across the U.S.

"We're proud of the tremendous value we were able to create at Country Pure by working closely with the management team to execute on our strategic growth plan," said Chip Chaikin, a partner at Blue Point. "This exit represents another successful outcome for our investors and validates our thesis around investing in leading middle-market businesses within the food and beverage space."

The sale of Country Pure comes amid a flurry of deal activity in the sector. Earlier this year, Sunlake Capital sold its portfolio company PSS, a manufacturer of industrial seals and gaskets, to a strategic buyer after a period of rapid growth under Sunlake's ownership.

"The food and beverage industry continues to be an attractive target for private equity firms looking to capitalize on evolving consumer preferences and industry consolidation," said Sarah Wu, an analyst at research firm PrivCap. "Firms that can identify and build up strong, differentiated platforms are well-positioned to generate attractive returns on their investments."
