Quantum Systems Hits €3B+ Valuation in Latest Funding Round

German drone maker Quantum Systems has secured a €180 million Series C extension, propelling the company's valuation beyond €3 billion. The fresh capital will bolster Quantum's expansion as it looks to scale its autonomous flight technology for commercial and government applications.

The sizable funding round underscores growing investor appetite for innovative mobility solutions, particularly in the fast-evolving drone industry. Quantum Systems has emerged as a leader in the field, developing advanced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) capable of vertical take-off and landing. Its drones are used for tasks ranging from aerial surveying to search and rescue missions.

"This latest investment is a testament to the strength of our technology and the market opportunity we're uniquely positioned to capture," said Quantum Systems CEO, Manuel Pfister. "As governments and enterprises increasingly turn to drones for a wide array of use cases, we're confident our platform will continue to set the standard."

The Series C extension was led by new investor Insight Partners, with participation from existing backers including Radical Ventures and Corecam Capital Partners. Industry analysts noted the deal values Quantum Systems at over €3 billion, cementing its status as one of Europe's most valuable private drone companies.

The capital injection comes at a pivotal time for the drone industry, which is expected to see rapid adoption across sectors like logistics, infrastructure inspection, and public safety. Quantum's ability to secure such substantial funding underscores investor confidence in the company's technological edge and market positioning.

Beyond the Quantum deal, this week also saw other notable funding rounds and M&A activity in the European tech ecosystem. UK-based AI startup Model ML raised $75 million, while Dutch forestry analytics firm Overstory secured €37.1 million in Series B financing.

Overall, the flurry of investment signals continued resilience in the European startup landscape, as entrepreneurs and VCs navigate an uncertain macroeconomic environment.
