Germany's Quantum Systems Hits 'Triple Unicorn' Status With €180M Series C Extension

Germany's Quantum Systems, a leading provider of aerial data intelligence solutions, has secured a €180 million Series C extension, bringing its total 2025 fundraising to a staggering €340 million. The new round, led by Balderton Capital, propels the company's valuation beyond the €3 billion 'triple unicorn' milestone.

The combined funding represents the largest private capital raise in Europe's dual-use technology sector this year, underscoring Quantum Systems' rapid ascent and the market's appetite for innovative unmanned systems. The extension follows the company's €160 million Series C round closed in May 2025.

"Quantum Systems has established itself as a true pioneer in the aerial data intelligence space, delivering transformative solutions across multiple domains," said Rana Yared, General Partner at Balderton Capital. "This latest funding will enable the company to accelerate its global expansion and cement its position as a market leader."

Founded in 2015 by Florian Seibel and Sven Kruck, Quantum Systems develops advanced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and data analytics platforms for commercial and government clients. The company's portfolio includes fixed-wing drones, multirotor systems, and AI-powered software for tasks ranging from infrastructure inspection to search and rescue operations.

Industry sources note that Quantum Systems' valuation underscores the surging investor appetite for dual-use technologies with both civilian and military applications. The company's solutions have gained traction across sectors including energy, transportation, and public safety, fueling its rapid growth.

"This latest round of funding will allow us to further invest in R&D, expand our global footprint, and deliver even more powerful capabilities to our customers," said Seibel, Quantum Systems' co-CEO. The Series C extension comes amid a broader wave of consolidation in the European unmanned systems market. Earlier this year, France's Parrot acquired German drone maker Microdrones, while Israel's Aeronautics Defense Systems was purchased by Elbit Systems.
